Healthcare

Regular full or part-time employees working at least 30 hours per week are offered medical, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k) Plan

The 401(k) retirement plan is funded by a combination of Credit Union and employee contributions. After the completion of 90 days of continuous service, employees are eligible to become a member in the 401(k) plan and the Credit Union will begin making discretionary contributions equal to 3% of the employee’s salary.

Paid Time Off

Wheelhouse Credit Union observes 12 paid holidays for all regular full and part-time employees. In addition, all regular employees receive a floating holiday in recognition of their birthday. The Credit Union recognizes the importance of taking time off from work to relax, spend time with family, and enjoy leisure activities therefore, the Credit Union provides paid vacation time to both full-time and part-time employees for this purpose. In addition, regular full and part-time employees are awarded 40 hours of sick leave at the beginning of each year. Employees hired after January 1, are awarded 40 hours of sick time on their employment date. This time can be utilized for the employee’s own medical care and for the medical care of their immediate family member.

Tuition Reimbursement

Available to all full and part time employees after 6 months of continuous service.

Corporate Citizenship

Regular full and part time employees that have completed 90 days of service are paid regular wages for time spent volunteering with an approved San Diego organization.

Join Our Leadership Team!
Wheelhouse Credit Union is seeking a Chief Lending Officer (CLO). This role is a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all lending operations, including consumer and mortgage lending as well as our Collections Department. The CLO ensures the Credit Union’s lending programs align with strategic goals, regulatory compliance, and risk management standards while delivering outstanding member experiences and strengthening our presence in the community.

If you’re a dynamic leader with a bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field, at least five years of progressive lending experience in a senior leadership role, have a strong ability to manage risk, ensure compliance, and maintain portfolio quality, we want to hear from you!

Additional Qualifications Include:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in lending, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer, mortgage, and commercial lending practices and regulations.
  • Experience managing collections operations and implementing recovery strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.

Salary: $20.40 – $25.50 hourly

Summary:

Handle all incoming calls and service requests directed to our Phone Branch. Open new accounts, handle member inquiries/transactions, account/loan maintenance and research requests. Provide accurate information, research and resolve members’ problems, and determine member needs while proactively cross selling credit union products and services in a professional, courteous and efficient manner. Remain current on all laws, rules and regulations including BSA and CIP programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Promptly answer all incoming calls in a polite, professional manner while complying with member identification procedures and ensuring member information security at all times. Determine caller’s nature of business and personally assist or when necessary, announce the caller and transfer to the appropriate individual or department. Comply with Wheelhouse Credit Union’s Internal Service Standards when communicating information to other branches/departments.
  2. Provide a high level of quality member service. Answer each call with a “telephone smile.” Be professional, courteous, tactful and a good listener.
  3. Strive to meet and exceed all Goals and Objectives set by the Phone Branch Manager.
  4. Open accounts for existing members via phone and assist with online new account processing for applications submitted via our website. Act as a source of information for new and existing members who are seeking information about new accounts products, modifications to existing accounts or membership qualification. Promote and cross-sell additional Wheelhouse Credit Union products and services that fit our member’s needs.
  5. Assist members with set up and navigation of Home Banking, Bill Payment, Mobile App and other Credit Union digital/online products, as they are applicable. Reset/unlock passwords, research and assist with trouble shooting member access issues and other digital banking related requests.
  6. Process members’ account/loan inquiries, transactions, loan payments, copy requests, fee reversals and check orders. Research account discrepancies, errors and complaints; follow up to the point of resolution or direct to the applicable department for further assistance.
  7. Maintain full knowledge of the Credit Union’s products, service and transaction procedures as required for performing service functions accurately and efficiently. Thoroughly read, understand and keep record of all promotional materials, the Wheelhouse Weekly, Desk Procedures, Credit Union Procedures and any information provided to you in order to represent the Credit Union in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Comply with all BSA and CIP programs along with the applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  8. Other duties as may be assigned.

Position Requirements and Qualifications: 

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum one year of credit union/banking or comparable financial industry experience required. New account opening experience preferred with demonstrated service and sales skills. Call center experience a plus. A bachelor’s degree will be considered in lieu of work experience.
  3. Must possess professional written and verbal communication skills, including excellent telephone and e-mail etiquette including listening skills.
  4. Proficiency with on-line data processing system and Microsoft Office Products. General working knowledge of the internet including online banking/mobile banking is required.
  5. Must be eligible to become an individual endorsee under the business entity license of Wheelhouse Credit Union held with the California Department of Insurance. Will be required to complete an individual application for insurance and an affidavit of training and knowledge.
  6. Must possess the ability to professionally represent the Credit Union and conduct business via the telephone with clear enunciation in English. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking a plus.
  7. Must possess a high degree of organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  8. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships are essential.

Salary: $38.23 – $47.79/hour
Position Purpose:

Following established policies and procedures and under limited direction of the Vice President/CFO, the Senior Financial Analyst provides broad-based finance assignments requiring advanced knowledge of finance theory and accounting principles.  Main responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, ALM (Asset-Liability Management), liquidity, investment, branch/product profitability analysis, peer reporting, cost center budget variance reporting, and ad-hoc analysis.  Provide management with information necessary for decision-making.  Ensure complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial records for the Credit Union

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Support the CFO in day-to-day cash management and liquidity analysis, planning and reporting.
  2. Analyze overall investment portfolio for performance improvement and risk analysis. Proactively identify opportunities for enhancement while balancing risk/reward.  Create various monthly investment reports/analyses.  Perform due diligence on approved investment brokers and financial analysis on (Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco) FHLB and Corporate Credit Union (Catalyst). Ensure investment broker/brokerage files are complete and accurate.
  3. Prepare data for Asset-Liability Management (ALM) quarterly reporting with a focus on accuracy, internal controls, and process improvement. Act as an initial liaison with ALM vendor for questions relating to assumptions and results.  Summarize results and create ALM quarterly reports for the ALCO Committee.
  4. With the CFO direction, leads the preparation of the Credit Union’s annual budget process. Coordinate and communicate with management to provide assumptions, information, and feedback. Develop and maintain the budget consolidation model.  Create appropriate management and Board of Directors review materials for the annual budget.  Develop and prepare monthly cost center budget variance reporting.
  5. Work closely with management to prepare and develop financial forecast and risk analyses as needed for the Leadership Team. Work closely with the CFO to assimilate and develop economic and industry information for integration into the forecasting process.
  6. Responsible for the development and maintenance of branch and product profitability for the Credit Union.
  7. Perform financial modeling and/or relevant financial analysis projects that will enhance the Leadership Team’s understanding of financial performance.
  8. Analyze and prepare all credit union peer group related data and reporting.
  9. Responsible for developing, documenting, maintaining, and improving processes and internal controls related to finance-related functions. Ensure process documentation and desktop procedures are accurate and are updated timely.
  10. Serve as a back-up for the NCUA 5300 Call Report, streamline and improve the data collection and reporting process.
  11. Act as a super-user for accounting and finance systems, develop reports to assist management and lead integration of systems as planned.
  12. Maintain effective communication and coordination with Credit Union personnel and with management.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and abilities required: 

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, with a concentration in finance.
  2. Five to seven years of finance-related experience for financial institution is preferred.
  3. Advanced spreadsheet skills are required. High level of proficiency in data analysis.  Strong personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint).
  4. Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
  6. A high degree of organization and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. A high level of motivation and initiative.
